Unless you are doing NEWS photography show what you saw by tweaking your pictures to show how you see and remember things, to portray emotion.
These shots I tweaked to show what I remember and what I saw. They pop out a bit at you and are crisp. The day I took these the air was crisp and clean, the temperature was cool, my state of mind, though being debated about, was happy.

Fixing the bad shots
This is a picture from England I took while driving, OK, I was not drive only a passenger.
This is the original I snapped really quick. I liked the lighting and the construction going on around.
Everyone has there idea of what would look nice, mine was to sharpen it and other tweaks and adjustments to come up with this following one:
